HOW TO: Ombré Lips - The KJ Effect

What is your best feature?’ That question used to frighten me growing up being young, naïve and unaware of the beauty of having something that stood out. Being a young woman with African heritage I was graced with full lips – that I didn't always like nor appreciate – but with time and confidence became - what I believe and others may agree - to be my best feature.

Everyone has a best feature, even if you don’t recognise it yourself. Be it your eyes, lips, nose, eyebrows I mean Cara Delevingne eyebrows literally changed the game for ever. Or say Nicki Minaj’s bootylicious butt. THESES things ladies are beautiful features which should be cherished, adored, embraced and most importantly loved by ourselves.

Now, having a few moments to think about what you best feature may be, I’m going to list some tips on Ombre lips which flaunts my best feature yasssss…

you don’t have to have big full lips or shall I say Kylie Jenner lips to do ombre lips, all you need is confidence! Oh and of course products.

The key to ombre lips is finding a darker shade lip liner and a lighter shade lipstick. Perhaps a red lipstick and a black liner.

Step 1. Line your lips and create the shape you desire – There is nothing wrong with over lining the lips (to a certain extend! Do it with class and make it look natural ladies)

 Step 2. Bring in the liner from the outer corner of your lips.

Step 3. Apply your lipstick starting from the middle of the lips which should be liner free, moving it around the whole lips slightly over the liner which normally will create a shade of its own.

 Step 4. Go over the liner then repeatedly but gently kiss your lips to blend it in.

Step 5. Grab your concealer and a brush, use your brush with a small amount of products to clean and sharpen the shape of your lips. Take your time doing this. Then blend.. blend... blend the concealer until you can't see it.

Step 6. Get dressed, pout and take a selfie!
